There unfortunately are currently no funded PhD studentships available. However, interested candidates can always get in touch with our PI Dr Pascal Vrticka to discuss potential future funding opportunities / places for self-funded students.
An additional avenue to secure PhD funding is through the South East Network for Social Sciences (SeNSS). There are student-led and collaborative studentships available every year. Please check the respective deadlines. The next call for student-led studentship will open towards the end of 2023 for a start in October 2024. The 2023 call for a collaborative studentship is currently open but without participation of the SoNeAt Lab.
It is advisable to contact Dr Vrticka well in advance of the final deadlines (several months) to provide yourself adequate time to develop your research proposal. Studentships in the Department of Psychology at University of Essex are very competitive and a high quality research proposal is essential to receive a funded offer.
