On this page of the Social Neuroscience of Human Attachment (SoNeAt) Lab’s website you can find opportunities to participate in our lab-based and online research studies.

Lab-Based Studies (University of Essex, Colchester Campus)

In our ongoing family interaction study, we wish to examine how cisgender mums and dads coordinate their behaviour, heart rate and brain activity when they play with their biologically related child and discuss a problem amongst each other. In other words, we are investigating bio-behavioural synchrony between the three of them. The goal of our study is to find out what degree of parental synchrony is most beneficial for parent-child interaction and how we could help families who experience difficulties related to parent-child interaction and parental communication.

If your family lives within the Colchester (Essex) area or you know a family who does, please check out the flyer below and share it with others. To let us know that you are interested in participating, please click on the flyer and leave your contact information.

Online Studies (Adult UK Residents only)

As part of their Psychology UG and PG research projects, Bachelor (BSc) and Master (MSc) students affiliated with the SoNeAt Lab regularly set up online studies. They would greatly appreciate if you could help them gather as much data as possible by filling in their online questionnaires. Please note that this can only be done by adult (>18 years) participants who are currently resident in the UK. Thank you very much in advance!

There are currently no online studies available for participation. Please check back later. Thank you.
