Essex University Colchester Campus is located two miles east from Colchester town centre (see small map below). The University of Essex website provides extensive information on how to best get here by different means of transport.

For international travel, the closest airports are London Stansted (hub for Ryanair) and London City – both airports are easily reachable by public transport and are located to the east of London. Travel can also be arranged to/from London Luton (north), Gatwick (south) and Heathrow (west) airports, although transfer will take longer.

The SoNeAt Conference 2023 will take place in the Essex Business School (EBS) auditorium (EBS 2.2) as well as the adjacent foyer (poster presentations).

Accommodation

Accommodation can be booked at the on-campus Wivenhoe House Hotel (https://www.wivenhoehouse.co.uk/). Please note, however, that capacity is very limited.

Additional accommodation is available at various locations within the City of Colchester, which is easily reachable by public transport.

We have just received confirmation that on-site (i.e., University of Essex, Colchester campus) student accommodation can be booked for the duration of the conference (with a maximum duration of a stay of 14 nights consecutively). The accommodation consists of single ensuite rooms available with shared kitchen facilities. The rate is £49 room only per night or £55 bed and breakfast per night. Full pre-payment (non-refundable) will be necessary.
